Re: 67 Mercury Cougar Marauder 390 GT V8 4B

SO...I think mine is a Marauder GT 390 VS...but it's base is an XR-7...with the option of the Maurauder GT 390 engine added.(?) I have ordered the Marti Report. I'm not sure how long it takes to receive it. The 390-4v engine was marketed as the Marauder GT 390, but that is different from the GT Equ...

Re: Why is it a weird color?

It has to do with how the colors interact with each other. Adjacent colors can change how the intensity of each color is perceived, making either look darker or lighter. Here's an article that explains it better:

Re: 68 Convertible conversion

Where are you? Greg Zuch in upstate NY is the one who did the conversion on CatVert for me. It's a big project to do it right and not something most body shops are going to want to take on.

Re: R.I.P. Joe Oldham

I just read his column in the December 2017 issue of Muscle Machines on the '69 Cougar XR-7 R-code convertible intro. Sorry to hear he's gone. RIP.

Re: How do we network to find the best shops to work on our Cougars?

Most owners will have used one shop for bo...

Re: Selling on Ebay

I don't think someone can do a transfer without the involvement of bank personnel at both ends so it seems more secure than people think. Consider that your bank routing and account numbers are on every check you write. That's really all you're giving out for a wire transfer.

Re: Selling on Ebay

I've sold several cars through eBay. My preferred method is a wire transfer. As soon as the money is wired in and available for my use, I'll sign and send the title while the buyer arranges pickup. It's a very secure method that gives the buyer an audit trail between banks. I've never had a problem ...

Re: 68 roadster conversion.

I'm guessing most of the convertible-specific modifications aren't there. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Cougar interior quarter panels and rear seat would fit back in if the convertible top support panel was installed and that's a significant structural component. It also appears that the ...

Re: Legendary Motor

It looks like it might have been Season 4, Episode 11 - Is a Cougar a Classic? I remember that episode somewhat. The customer who purchased the Cougar also ended up buying a BMW Isetta.
