Re: Electric Water Pump vs Mechanical

A friend has an electric pump on his car. He goes to the track a couple times a year but it's primarily a weekend cruiser. I wouldn't run one now. Good idea in theory but part of the joy of these cars is the simplicity and lack of wiring. His issues are Probably mostly installer error, but a mechani...

Re: Help with a Dilemma

Thanks Harry. We have daily drivers that work with the kids. The cougar is purely a luxury and I get away with it because it is a family hobby. We go to the race track all together or cruises or just to go get some ice cream. If I keep a car that only works for me it won't last long. If I sold the c...

Help with a Dilemma

Well guys I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands. My wife and I planned on 2 kids, we have a 2 year old boy who loves cars and going to the track but we just had twin girls. The dilemma I have is that a cougar is a bit tight for a family of 5 to go cruising. So who has added a seat belt or made car s...

Re: #s matching

It really depends on you personally and the price tag. I personally don't care about it being numbers matching, however I didn't pay for a numbers matching car and plan on modifying some things anyways. For a low production vehicle it would mean more. It's 50 years old and was sold as a performance ...

Re: IS it Spring ( rate ) time yet ???

I don't know anything about road racing but know there's a few guys on here that love it. Try taking a look at the opentracker racing site. They sell all the reinforcement parts, suspension, and steering parts.

Heat shield on the exhaust manifold

Hi guys. I have a 1969 351w in the car. The heat shield on the exhaust manifold appears to be in very good shape so I don't want to wreck it. Is there any way to get it off without pulling the motor? Maybe I am being too gentle but it seems too tight. Thanks in advance
