Re: Any Cougar car shows on the EAST side of the country?

Good Morning Scott, Randy is correct in that it is a one time event. In 2017 CATS hosted the 50th anniversary of the first Mercury Cougar. That event was a bit larger and we had 205 cougars attend. We at CATS are estimating around 100 cars for this event. If memory serves me correctly, we have 30-is...

I'm guessing eight to nine hours for you to Auburn IN. CATS Cougar Club is hosting a show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 69 Cougar. This would be the "New For 69" cougar. The festivities begin June 21. Check out the website at catsccc.com. Hope you can swing it. Gary Hill Trustee CATSCCC

Re: What am I doing wrong? Won't start/idle...

Looks like you need to verify spark at this point. Voltage at coil? 69 XR7 with bad factory tach will kill the spark (so to speak) and I believe the 68 tach is the same way but this would need to be confirmed. Someone will chime in on the 68 tach.

A couple of thoughts.

Also, polishing will not take any fogginess out. If they are foggy, there is nothing that can be done.

Re: Starting and idling issues

My car is not the same engine wise or carb wise. However, what you are describing is exactly what happened on mine when the fuel pump was going bad. You can check fuel pressure, mine was very low until the engine got going.
