Re: 1969 XR7 Roof emblem badge logo

I restored some chrome Ghia emblems years ago and used clear polyurethane and it worked great. There is a version of that stuff at most hardware stores that's made to pour onto tabletops, etc. It goes on super thick and dries thick. It did yellow slightly over the years and gave the emblems a bit of...

Re: shifting issues

I should mention that the AOD shift pattern is 1st- Drive- Overdrive. Ford was too cheap to make new shifters for the cars so they built this screwball pattern into the AOD. Nevertheless, you can force an AOD to hold in second gear by starting in first, upshift to Drive and as soon as it shifts into...

Re: shifting issues

Getting the TV cable attached at the right spot on the carb throttle lever is the key. I fought with this for a LONG time back when I ran AODs in my 68. Re: The latest issue of Legendary Cougar Magazine is live online

Bill, I regret having let my subscription lapse after Volume 1 (new baby in the household kinda messed things up a bit). If i resubscribe now, is there a way to get the six Vol. 2 issues that I missed?

Re: 71 convertible rams

The rams can be rebuilt if you're brave enough to do some cutting. Basically, you have to cut the very top of the cylinder to remove the head. Then you can change the seals. To reassemble, you re-crimp the cylinder to the head. I rebuilt mine a year or so ago and the work perfectly. I posted pics of...

Re: PLEASE WHAT AM I MISSING rear window trim

I wonder if it's a year-specific thing? Maybe you have the wrong trim. Call Don at WCCC- the guys there should be able to help.

Re: PLEASE WHAT AM I MISSING rear window trim

It's been a while since I've had a roof on my car, but I seem to recall that situation having to do with how far into the window opening the trim is pushed. The opening gets smaller the further inward the trim sits and that obviously affects where the clips meet the trim, however, based on your pics...
