If memory serves me, the light bulb socket just clips into the top of the radio. It's easy to get at from the glove box if you remove the liner.

Could pulsed +5v current from your IVR (instrument voltage regulator) somehow be getting to the clock lights? How quickly do the lights pulse? Try putting a volt meter on the positive side of one of your gauges (or the output side of your IVR) and see if the needle pulses in sync with the clock ligh...

The repop shelby style bars that I've seen have all been mounted into a section of tubing bolted to the upper part of the inner rear quarter panel just ahead of the window crank using sheet metal screws. I had a client years back who worked as a detailer for auto dealerships and he said the "trade secret" for vinyl was that trans-medic stuff that supposedly reconditions the o-ring seals in transmissions and power steering systems.

Is it fully latched in your photo, above? If so, then yes, you need to first check your hinges to make sure they're not worn, thereby causing the door to sag.
