Re: Why Edelbrock??

I guess my little rant was a little too offensive for some as it has been removed. Nice comeback in your always to the point manner, Caleb. Kind of funny that it's alright for some to be an ass, but God forbid someone call them out after watching them pounce on someone else for the umpteenth time. S...

Re: Why Edelbrock??

Coincidence - just got through with one of those LS swaps. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1116407/fullsize/ls-swap.jpg Gyrhead happy birthday. Most of what you're saying is totally true. There is definately a big difference between an $800 carb or a $200 one, I can't agree that it's all matketi...

Re: Why Edelbrock??

Ford and GM ran Holley carburetors on all their best street machines with the highest horsepower. Because they were better and faster. And reliable as hell. Your story is silly, because Holley makes the best carburetors on the market. I've been using Holley carburetors on all of my Cougars since th...

Re: New wires

Yeah the 135 was what was on it. These are 180, but smaller circumference boot. If I put another set on it will be these with 135.

Re: Off Topic How's your portfolio ?

Been on both sides of it good and bad. I will say that getting out before the last crash DID help feed us and weather the storm. Just a shame that things picked up so slowly that we got back to work just before the well dried up completely. The upside? It was kind of like hitting the reset button to...

Re: Time to come clean / spill the beans

I love it. Even though these Regals were a dime a dozen back in the day, this is the first G body Regal station wagon I have ever seen. Very cool car. Like the cut down rack as well.

Re: Time to come clean / spill the beans

Couldn't agree more. The only car harder to do a heater core on than my '68 was my '88 Thunderbird.

New wires

So two weeks ago, I take my '68 for a little drive and keep noticing an ever increasing problem. My car gradually keeps sounding more Cammy, and at the same time I feel a vibration at idle. All the usual things are checked, damper/front of crank, vacuum lines and intake seal, carb base, then timing,...

Re: Tune update on my Cougar

Good deal. Always nice to get a car dialed in. Like the pics too. Kind of funny how much these old engines pick up from simple things like air filter/housing changes. It may be a little more time consuming than hooking up a programmer, but it's a thousand times more rewarding.

Re: Why Edelbrock??

So far the Holley on the old barge has done great. I actually hope that continues. I REALLY like the Summit carb. Annular boosters based on the 4100 so linkage hooks up, clear sight windows. My only complaint, and it isn't as much a complaint as really using something that would be more a home on a ...
