I think being from the Bay area he is programmed to sell a car like one would list a house. You throw out a teaser price and the auction ensues with the winner paying about 50% more than asking price (on average).

The 69 at $33k was not that much of a steal. I see a car that needs a complete restoration. Had it been a West Coast car all blown apart, in boxes would it have done more than $30k? I know which I would choose.

The only way they could be forward is if the apron was replaced incorrectly. My bet is your hinges are fatigued. So I used the good advice here and have managed to align the hood on my '70 with respect to side-to-side and height at the cowl. Big improvements. However, I can't figure out why the hood remains too far forward. I have about an extra 1/2" of space beyond what I'd like at the cowl gap. Hood is all ...
