Re: What factory build mistakes have you seen on Cougars?

No rear side reflectors on a 1 owner original paint 68 GTE. Mustang Vin on a 68 dash with the correct vin placed squarley over it but not fastened, one rocker moulding on a 68. Something to do with the strike in 68? Maybe...

Re: 1967 GT on Sacramento Craigslist

Very happy with my site unseen purchase. Nicest hood blanket I have seen in years, often on low mile cars that have been parked for years mice tear them apart. Not a single mouse dropping anywhere in this car! First on the list is to get some Firestone Wide 0vals on it. 67c5.jpg 67c4.jpg 67c3.jpg 67...

Re: newbie question on what year to buy

Welcome! I say 68... They are safer and many of the bugs have been worked out from the first year model 67. These videos will help you pick a good one, I say be VERY picky and take your time. $20-30k puts you in the sweet spot to find a cherry but the dealers will often choose any old piece of crap ...

Re: Best Coolant ?

Makes me curious as to what my Grandfathers 66 F250 looks like inside as it sits right outside my door here at work. He only used distilled as he had the hardest of hard water in the Desert area of Fort Rock Oregon. He bought the truck new and it has almost 400k miles on the 360. Of course it has be...

Re: Best Coolant ?

Being as we have very soft water (we are in the country and have hard well water which requires a softener system) and distilled has risks I am going to stick to my garden hose. "The problem is that when water is distilled, or “stripped,” of its minerals and impurities, the resulting solution is com...

Re: 67-68 Hood and Drivers Door

Welcome! Just refresh this thread once in awhile and you will find a bargain in time. I just got a great deal on some parts from a DFW Cougar Club Member. How close are you to Dallas? Can you post the data from your door tag? Load a picture or two if can as well. If you are in the neighborhood I alw...

Re: 1969 Convertible aftermarket wiring

New to the forum and have searched this with no results. Recently purchased a 69' XR7 convertible and would like to have all new wiring done for the entire car to include EFI, electric fan etc. I can't seem to find any of the aftermarket websites that make replacement wiring for the cougars. Is the...

Re: New Walking Cat Rubber Floor Mats

You are correct, there are now 2 sets of moulds. Drake and JCC. The Cougar facial detail on the JCC set is better than the Drake set but the grip on the backside is better and more true to OEM on the Drake set. They need a minimum order of 100 sets to do colors and I have never been one to collect m...

Re: 1973 Cougar Convertible / 1 owner / 62270 original miles

Note to self: Next time ask for forgiveness instead of permission... Fortunately I was making snap decisions on car purchases long before my wife came into the picture and she knows I can never be reformed. She did hit a wall though 1 year ago. She walked in after driving my 20 year olds sons salvag...

SOLD! Really surprised it took that long. Not sure the guy who bought it even realizes what a deal he got.
