Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

Got out with my son yesterday to his swimming lessons, before the weather makes its change to the worse.

Be advised that the reproduction Mustang seat risers are a different height than the original Cougar ones.

Re: My Dad's 67 Standard

So it's been awhile since I've posted any update on the Cougar. It's been in the garage all winter, only out on the road a couple times(mostly due to dark, wet, cold weather) I new the passenger floor had issues, so I cut up the carpet. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/790/40788645644_fd1c13d11d_b.jpg ...

Re: My Dad's 67 Standard

Little update on Dads Car. I’ve been driving it a few times every week, finding something else to fix just about each time the damn thing gets fired up.. I found a door mirror for it. Had to replace the heater core, and learned how to do some fiberglass work in the process. The gauge lights are now ...

Re: Carburetor to Manifold Gasket Leaks

I get my 4300 gaskets from Mikes Carburetor and they have been fine. Mike's website is good with much info and vid's. Make sure your mating surfaces are not warped (common) and that the screws are not bottoming out. By your description, it is hard to imagine what you mean by "basin under". Yeah, I ...

Re: Carburetor to Manifold Gasket Leaks

From what I have read, you need to use the exact gasket for the 4300 carb. Some after-market gaskets do not fit perfectly. I am sure other members will chime in on this matter. Al I ordered the gasket online from Quadrajet parts, who stocks quite a few 4300 parts. I also understand the gasket needs...

Carburetor to Manifold Gasket Leaks

Question for the experts: I have a 67 with a Motorcraft 4300 carb. I've had it off several times now. It seems like everytime I remove it, the gasket under the spacer is saturated with fuel and the basin under it is full of fuel. I've replaced the gasket, and scraped and cleaned all surfaces. What a...
