Re: 1970 Cougar 351C Rebuild

Been watching all the info in this thread as I know a rebuild is in the near future. I have a 71 351c with the factory 4 bbl. When I bought it, there was a 2 bbl stuck on the 4 bbl intake and the temp gauge stayed at the hot end of the gauge all the way from Seattle to Portland. Installed a 4 bbl ca...

Re: Backup light troubleshooting

You probably have a neutral safety switch out of adjustment, don't know the year or if automatic or standard, but that would explain why they flash going into or out of reverse. It is pretty simple to adjust, but it is different from c4, c6, fmx or year, some are on the transmission some are in the ...

Do 72 side markers flash with turn signals

I was doing some sorting and repairing tail light harness's for what I thought were 71/72 tail lights today and noticed a difference. For 70 and 71 the side marker lights are integrated into the turn signal sequencing. I know 70/ 71 do that but while cleaning a real nice 72 harness I noticed the mar...

Re: Door switch

Yes Cathouse is right all had the switches, but the difference in options is the way they are wired. Like the XR7's with the switches in the dash also controlling lights, the wiring is different going to the door switches.

Re: 70 Turn Signal Issue

Check the grounds on the front core support behind the headlights. With the side markers coming on it seems you have a 70. All the turn signals ground in the front. 70-72 side markers flashed with the turn signals and went off with the turn signals when the marker lights are on.

Thanks for the kind words! You didn't say which buzzer so I'll assume it was the key buzzer you took out. And yes that should not be a problem.

Re: Partial Power to fuse panel # K2387-C

Power for the 1, 2, and 3 fuse come from the ignition switch (black wire with a light green hash mark) I suspect a failed ignition switch. You can check for power at the switch with the key on. If you find power out of the switch pull your fuses and insure they are good. That circuit also feeds the ...

Yes you are hooked up right, but did you plug in the antenna? I have tested some that will not even put out static till the antenna is hooked up.

Re: location of sequential flasher can

I haven't come across one not working because the emerg flasher not changed. Have you cleaned the grounds on the radiator core support? They are right behind each headlight housing and are the primary grounds for the turn signals. Are you testing with the car running? I've got a 73 that I'm working ...
