Re: New Wheels...now what size tires?

When I purchased my Cougar it had 235/60 upfront and 275/60 in back. The car also had air shocks at that time. IMHO the 235/60's fit but looked too large in the front and the 275/60's would rub even with the air shocks if you hit too large a dip/bump in the road. I currently have 215/60 upfront and ...

Re: 68 Standard Dash

I used Chrome Tech and they did a very nice job. Came back with the black all sprayed also. Did a 68 XR7, both sides and the two bullets for the tach and speedo. Cost around $650 for everything. Here is the link. http://www.chrometechusa.com/automotive-interior-plastics.html I used them to redo my ...

Re: Distinctive Industries upholstery defect

Just curious, did you do both seats? I don't know how the covers are manufactured but are the seat backs and bottom matched individually?
Maybe the installer switched the sets up. I can't remember positively but when I ordered mine I think they came in individual boxes per seat.

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

62 degrees and my Cougar's 50th birthday was today, so I pulled the cover off and drove to a neighboring town to meet a fellow car buddy for lunch. Felt good to drive her again even though it's only been a couple of weeks since I put the cover on. Hopefully I can do it again before the weather reall...

Re: 1969 Cougar w/351W idling low and dying at stops

Andy, Your symptoms described here are a little different than what you told me in Morris on Saturday. However I agree on checking the points. Monday I got stuck in some stop and go traffic and after about 5 minutes mine too started hesitating while sitting idling. Yesterday I pulled the distributor...

Congrats Brian On ROTM honors! It was nice to meet you in Dearborn and my wife and I had a front row seat when you parked this cat near Cougar one.

Re: Odometer Reading

When mine turned over for the second time this is how the odometer looked:

Now I'm at 6453 and they are all straight across. Other than obvious wear on the brake pedal I don't think you'll really know for sure.
