Re: Hagerty upsets me

Yup, you need to be 25 I think for Hagerty. On one hand, the best way to engage the next generation in this stuff is to put them in the car, then behind the wheel. On the other hand, by doing so we risk having an uninsured loss on an expensive asset. I still let my 17 y/o drive the cars, just not wi...

Re: Another drag strip bites the dust

Old Bridge Township Raceway Park press release Visit those old tracks before they become victims of high-priced real estate & the spread of suburbia. As kids, my dad would take us there (Wall stadium too) a few times/year. Once we got our licenses, my buddies & I spent a fair bit of time at either ...

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

38 and sunny here this a.m., and since they haven't salted the roads yet, it was the perfect chance to get the '69 out for an hour long backroad cruise, fill the tank one more time & tuck her away for the winter. I think I fell in love w/the old gal all over again. She drives so nice, and just loooo...

Anybody using the FIXD app?

For newer cars ('96 & up), seems like it basically turns your phone into a code reader. Thinking about it to help me manage the growing fleet of aging daily drivers. Wondering if anyone has experiences (positive or negative) to share. "The FIXD Sensor plugs into the OBD-II port of any gasoline-power...

Re: Clutch replacement suggestions?

I run a Centerforce diaphragm clutch and it is pretty good. I say pretty good in that it is right on the edge of not enough for the 450-500 HP 408C stroker I run. For a 300 HP 351 engine it would be perfect. Goes right in place of the stock Long style clutch and uses the same T/O bearing. https://w...

Re: Clutch replacement suggestions?

+1 on the Centerforce he linked. That was perfect for my 302, and one of these days, it should be perfect for my 351w/393, if I ever get around to finishing the install..... Please quote HP figures whenever you reference your engine, along with 1/4 mile times. Pro Forma #s are fine, as long as you ...

Re: 1969 Q Code convertible 4-speed

...Please forgive me for what I am about to say...The rear seems to me to be a little low... Another classic quote for the archives. Rear stance looks perfect to me, if anything the front springs might have to cycle through their travel a few times before settling in maybe 1/2 inch or s...
