Re: Air coming in through steering wheel

I bought a repro from Muscle Car Reproductions (MCR), installed it and it balled up and fell out right away. Forget if I improvised or said F' it after that.

Re: How do we help folks that don't know how to use a forum?

It's not perfect, but there's always the FAQ . Of course, judging by the emails you've received, the users in question may not know what a FAQ is, or don't notice the link to it in the navigation menu. Judging by the quotes, maybe change "FAQ" to "Frequently Asked Questions" to get better visibilit...

Re: Changing to a Tremec

Had to cut the unibody reinforcement for the cross member to fit the TKO-600 into Isabel. Dunno, maybe it is because she's a 'vert?

Re: Back firing

Reading my service manual it does say the rocker arms can be over tightened. But it says the 351 HO motors. Mines is not an HO. Does this matter. Could I have over tightened the rocker arms and if so how do I fix this? The Boss 351's had adjustable valvetrain, I believe that is what you are referri...

Re: Back firing

The cam rotates once for every two turns of the crank shaft. But that is not your problem. If it were 180 degrees out it would run so bad that it wouldn't get out of your garage. If you did set the valve lash by adjusting the rocker arm nuts with a torque wrench you need to go back and redo that as...

Re: Back firing

My problem is the motor is back firing out the driver side exhaust. I don’t have crossover on my exhaust. So you can hear a popping sound coming from the driver side exhaust. Pop pop pop pop! It seem to be getting worse. I torqued the rocker arms to 11-14 ft pounds with lock tight. From what you ar...

Re: Back firing

I did put the used cam in and lifters in the exact spot. The only thing I changed was I put new push rods in. They were the same length and were straight. It just seems like the issue is getting worse every time I start it up. I torqued the rocker arms to 11-14 ft pounds with lock tight. I’m going ...

Re: Intellitronics Gauges and Carbon Fiber Dash

Do they supply the carbon fiber dash insert or did you have to make it? If the latter, how did you do it? Looks great!

Re: Back firing

Butch, Was the cam/lifters you used already broken in and re-used (with the lifters in the same position I hope) or a new cam? Guessing the former. Did you use a ZDDP additive or oil with zinc (you have a flat tappet hydraulic cam, correct?)? If no to any of the above, take the PS valve cover off an...
