Re: XR7G Mirror Restoration

Often re-crimping the cables into the controller can be problematic. Be very careful bead blasting pot metal, as it can wreck it easily. Thanks for the heads up on that Scott. I actually talked to a friend of mine that will be doing it for me. His beads are well worn to the point of being dust. He feels it will take a lot longer to get the paint off using the worn b...

Re: Easy radiator repair or just replace?

I’d say that’s a pretty easy fix. The only thing that would concern me is how many other holes like that are close to showing their ugly self. I’m sure a good radiator shop could pressure test and fix you up .

Re: 1968 Convertible Conversion

I had a chance today to work on getting the mirror disassembled. It took a little finesse to get the cables loose from the remote assembly. After that was done I was able to slide the cables through the adapter base and then the mirror housing. 800|1067|2018|2921.jpg 800|1067|2018|2922.jpg 800|1067|...

Re: 1968 Convertible Conversion

The outer portions of the remote cables have slipped in their indents.

I’ll look at the best way of securing it once I get it disassembled.

Re: 1968 Convertible Conversion

I started another topic covering the restoration of the XR7G mirror I’ll be using on this project.

I’ll also copy those post and put them here in this thread as well.
