Re: 68 XR7-Dads Cougah

Jim I'm enjoying the read and pictures so far. Keep the updates coming. It's awesome that your son is helping. It will build memories that will last a lifetime. In reference to your hood, what type of custom vents are those? I'd keep them in place if your father installed them.

Re: Selling on Ebay

I've also used the wire transfer from bank to bank. Very secure and you know the funds are good when they are available. Three of our Cougars have been purchased that way.

Re: Valve Covers...

Thank you. Any recommendations for the valve seals? The one on it looks cork. Also. Should I replace the screws? I'd use these bolts and gaskets: https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/p/15581-Bolt-Set-Valve-Cover-Allen-Head-Black-Repro-1967-1973-Mercury-Cougar-/-1967-1973-Ford-Mustang.html?at...

Yes they will fit a 289, 302 or a 351 Windsor.

Re: What do you guys think of this one on Craigslist?

Overall I think it's a good combination of newer and old. I know the paint scheme isn't my cup of tea either but it will appeal to others. I think as stated above put eyes on it before spending that kind of money. It might be a really good Cougar.

Very cool car. It's a wonderful combination of options for a 1st generation Cougar. What is your overall goal? Full restoration and driver duties on weekends?
