Glenn The key to making the hood scoop work is sealing the air filter base to the underside of the hood. If it is not sealed, the air coming in through the radiator swamps the air at the mouth of the scoop, and the result is that air comes out of the scoop instead of going in.

The 68 1/2 CJ cars are very special. I recall that there were only 101 XR7 CJ cars... So rare that most people didn't even know they existed until Kevin Marti came out with Cougar by the Numbers.

I hope the car is still intact. A lot can happen in 40 years. I expect that it will have the GT-E exhaust, but we will see. I hope they can get some pictures from "back in the day" but that may be really wishful thinking...

I got that back wards... The '68 seats have the additional padding. They also have the seat back release on the side. The hole for the release is not there on replace ment covers for either year, you have to locate and cut out the hole you need.
