Really? NOS one says C4 or C6 and is the part number you are looking for.
Ford used the same part number for two different parts?

Dug out the MPC and 69-70 390/428 C6 INDICATOR-FLUID LEVEL = C9AZ-7A020-B as of November 1975.
Found a -C here: http://www.rearcounter.com/C9AZ-7A020-C ... 10026.html

They also list -A as out of stock http://www.rearcounter.com/C9AZ-7A020-A-parts56844.html
and -B as out of stock http://www.rearcounter.com/C9AZ-7A020-B ... 82326.html

It was my understanding that the last letter was irrelevant unless you want period correct, but someone else can weigh in and explain the difference.

My understanding is that the last letter indicates a revision of the part. The first version of the part will be -A. Then if some small change is made to the part it becomes -B and so on down the line.

Can be important if they changed the amount of oil the trans should hold.
