Re: Air conditioner box

Thanks Tom. Neither rhe A/C or fan were on, it's just that the ventilation door wouldn't close and was allowing hot air in. It's always had slack in the hot/cold lever such that it won't go fully up to the cold setting. Darrell at WCCC is looking at the pictures of the parts out of the car but (perh...

Re: Air conditioner box

Thanks. The problem occurred without the A/C being on - should the de-icing switch even be engaged in that case?

Re: Air conditioner box

Thanks Tom and Royce. 1) I won't have a chance to look at the car until Monday but we did check the WCCC picture of a complete assembly and didn't see what the tech mentioned. I have a message in to Darryl at WCCC for his comments. 2) What is an icing switch?

Air conditioner box

The A/C box in my 68 with factory air decided to fail and concentrate our famous Houston heat and humidity right on my leg. After getting replacement seals and a used door, the shop now tells me that the box is about 80% in reasonable shape with the rest needing either replacement / refurbishment / ...

Re: Dashboard removal

Thanks Andrew. The main issue is an air inlet door that is letting in lots of south Texas heat and humidity (and probably some engine heat). I just got back from out of town so I don't know what they did but they seemed to be headed in the direction of perhaps not having to remove the dash. I did as...

Dashboard removal

It looks like the dash will need to be taken out to replace the door for the damper air inlet. Other than some oxidized decorative trim there isn't anything obvious that needs any attention. Any suggestions as to things to look for or to go ahead and do while the dash is off? Thanks in advance. Brad

Re: 1968 decor blue bench seat / restored

Hey Don. "I have quite a bit of money into foam and labor". I recently bought the parchment cover from you but haven't had it installed yet. Is the foam something the upholsterer makes or is it an item that's best purchased (if it's even produced) ?

Re: Backup light troubleshooting

I had the same problem and you might check with WCCC as I don't recall the details of something a guy at Auto Zone who was in to older cars told me about the fact that LEDs were not compatible with the factory circuitry. I only did the instrument panel and taillights (headlight conversion to follow ...
