I don't know how much difference there are in calibrations, but according to my MPC the sender you posted at Summit is not correct for your car. I show the following from my MPC (April 1973). No, the order your car went down the line is the rotation number, however those rolled over and did not start at one or zero each day. According to my MPC, the correct dipstick for a 1967 390 is a C7OZ 6750-A with a chrome handle.

17.42" shield to full
18.50" shield to add
19.25" shield to end

The tube is a C7OZ 6754-A and is approx. 10 5/64" long

No, Eliminators were introduced in April of 1969, by which point all Cougar production through the end of model year 1973 was done at Dearborn. IIRC San Jose Cougar production ceased in November 1968.
