Phillip, I too would like to know which clutch you used because I have not found one that did the job.
Instead of locking up when hot, they got much looser.

You can find a nut that will slip over the broken stud and weld the nut to the stud, let cool and turn it out.
The heat alone will loosen the stud.

I would not rule out the Pertronix ignitor, they have been known to be kinda twichey.

sounds like you have found the flashers and grounded them, now you could set the battery in and hook up the + lead and clamp the ground to frame and check your work.
