I'm totally with Mike B on this. Putting the Mustang name on a 4-door SUV is every bit the travesty now that putting the Cougar name on a faux-wood paneled station wagon was in the '70s.

The PI heads can be drilled and tapped to the 390GT exhaust manifold bolt pattern. The '67 GT500 used a 428PI engine with 390GT manifolds, so this combination will fit your Cougar. It's just not the most effective set up from a horsepower standpoint.

Good luck with your project. One suggestion: Connect the choke wire to the "STA" terminal on the back of the alternator. That way the choke will only be activated when the engine is running, which is what you want. Plus it'll simplify the wiring. It's also how Ford wired electric chokes from the fac...
