Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

The center part of the steering wheel is a mess as seen here. https://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y528/cougartracks351/cougar%20xr7%20conversion/s1080414_zps02zk9lwu.jpg here I had to glue back on the screw mounting pegs https://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y528/cougartracks351/cougar%20xr7%20conve...

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

While I sort out photo bucket I would like to update. During 2017 I updated the Os to win8.1 64bit; as a result I had a useless computer due to unsupported hardware. A new computer was a priority so that I could use the new tuning hardware/software for the cougar. also photo bucket nag ad campaign w...

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

Hello again. whew, how time flies, long story short, life takes turns, priorities get put in line, but that did not slow me down too much on the progress of my car. I did experience some technical set back that took some time to rectify, I will have to save that one for later, but for now I will cat...

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

It is time to set the steering column and the brake/master cylinder. Then I can put the dash cluster in its mounting spot, hook up all the wires, put the wheels on, remove the vehicle from the rotisserie and then drive the car out of the garage. Well I thought that was the plan! I hooked up all the ...

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

I had the same thing in mind when I started this project. That 3.70:1 was earmarked for this project until I changed out the gears in my thunderbird turbo coupe with 3.73:1 gear set. It all but rendered first gear useless and I often find myself taking off in second gear if the car has a little roll...

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

Hello everyone. It has been some time since the last update. I now have a new job and it fits right in my wheel house of things that I like to do and I should be there until I retire in about six to ten years from now. The job has kept me busy as I adjust to my new position. I have changed out the l...

Re: Have lost all power from battery

just some thoughts on this issue.
make sure that the prove out wire is attached to the proper side of the solenoid.
if it is on the wrong side it will provide power continuously to other parts of the car's electrical.
a blown fuse link will cause total power failure.
I hope this helps.

Re: Headliner

I used about 100 or more of these office spring clips to hold the material in place.
get small, medium and large clips, as many as you can buy or think that you will need.
this was a great tool for the job and when you are done you will have an endless supply of chip bag clips.

Re: 1970 xr7 turbo4

BossElim69, guitar74, I would love to be able to make it there and show case what I have so far. It would be a tough deadline to meet. On the other hand I will be there if I can, even without the car. Body work is on hold until spring so while the snow flies around I will be able to finish up on the...
